What is Ally?

Ally is an accessibility tool in Canvas.

Ally is a tool that is available in all Canvas courses at the University of Liverpool, it allows two key affordances for course content.

  • It checks how accessible documents and pages are and can help to fix accessibility issues.
  • It allows students and staff to download alternative formats of Canvas content (for example PDF, Digital Braille, Audio etc.).

Downloading Alternative formats

Documents can be download into the following formats:

How to Download Documents in Alternative formats

  1. Click the document link, to open the document
  2. To the top right, click Alternative formats

  3. Select the desired format, then Download.
