The My Folder feature on Panopto is a useful tool for when you are creating resources. This page will provide detail about how you can use it and who can see your folder.

How Do I Use My Folder?

My Folder is where all your personal recordings are kept, until they are edited and the final version is moved to the Submissions folder.

Treat your folder as an experimental space. You can create test recordings to check the quality of your mic and camera.

Who Else Can See "My Folder"?

Only you and IT Services can access your personal folder.

Sharing Recordings

Material for students

All content for student learning must be edited, reviewed and then, once happy with your final recording, moved into the Submissions folder.

Share recordings with individuals or a select group

Please do not share videos directly from "My Folder" with students. Only share videos with staff members or colleagues that have a Panopto account.

1.  Hover over the thumbnail of your chosen recording and select Share.
   
2. Under People and groups, type in the staff email(s) of who you would like to share the recording with. N.B staff can only be added as Viewers, not Creators with editing access.
   
3. Choose whether to notify the recipients of their recording access with an email.
4. Choose to 'include a table of contents and transcript if available'.
5. Select Send.
