Recorded Educational Resources - Submit a Recording

This final section will direct as to how and where resources need to be submitted.

Submissions Folder Process

All new recordings and existing recordings that have required edits should be uploaded to the MBChB Submissions folder in Panopto. This folder is where the School of Medicine receives the final and complete version of recordings for MBChB courses.

From here, the audio and visual quality is checked again by the Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) team. The recording is moved to the relevant curriculum theme, system block or speciality folder, unless caption correction support has been requested.

The MBChB curriculum content library is updated, and the recording is then embedded on Canvas for students to access.

By submitting a recording, you are indicating your approval for the content to be used in the MBChB programme, and your approval will be logged in the MBChB curriculum content library.

Move a Recording to the Submissions Folder

If you have recorded directly into your personal folder in Panopto - "My Folder" - please follow the steps below to see how you move a recording into the Submissions folder.

I don't have access to the Submissions folder

If you cannot access the Submissions folder in Panopto, please get in touch with the relevant Year team and TEL team.

  1. Complete a final review of your resource, ensuring it meets the standards of quality for MBChB content.
  2. Hover over the recording, a small box will appear in the top-left corner of the thumbnail.
  3. Select the box.
  4. Navigate to the options bar underneath "My Folder" and choose "Move".
  5. In the drop-down menu, search for "#Submissions".
  6. Once the #Submissions folder is selected, click "Move" again.
  7. Inform the relevant year administration team and TEL team that you have successfully submitted your completed recording. Please also indicate whether caption correction has been completed or if you require support.

Actions Following Submission - Share Presentation Slides

Synchronous teaching materials, such as presentation slides, are uploaded to Canvas alongside the recording. This is a requirement to comply with the university's inclusive approach.

You can share presentation slides in their original PowerPoint format with the relevant year team via email or SharePoint. For further information on SharePoint, please see Submitting PowerPoint Slides and Teaching Resources.

Annual Resource Review

All resources must be reviewed annually to ensure they remain up-to-date and meet the legal, University and School standards for delivery. The year administration team will contact you when content is due to be reviewed in time for the next academic year.
