Guidance and support for delivering on campus lectures

Welcome to the On Campus Lectures Overview. Thank you for confirming that you will deliver an in-person lecture for the MBChB course. Your teaching contribution is highly valued and very much appreciated.

Best Practice Guidelines for On Campus Lectures

  • Each section contains guidance that will support you to prepare and deliver an on campus lecture for the MBChB programme.
  • Lectures are recorded and stored in the university's recording software, Panopto.
  • All guidance is based on the School of Medicine's best practice guidelines for lecturers.

Why Use the Best Practice Guidelines?

These guidelines ensure that your resource adheres to current legal requirements and to the School's high quality standards for teaching.

If you are unable to deliver your lecture

If it becomes apparent that you will be unable to deliver your lecture:

  1. Suggest a backup colleague to take over the responsibility. This must be done with their knowledge. Please inform your System/Specialty Lead and the Year Administrator with as much notice as possible.
  2. If an alternative colleague cannot be found, contact the System/Specialty Lead and agree a plan to ensure that the relevant material will be made available for students to access.
